The Hartford Courant has been dissected by every angle since it redesigned its layout. One aspect that is fascinating is how there are sections that look and read like a blog.
For instance, the On the Fly sports column is a summary of the past 24 hours in sports. What is important to note is that it reads like a blog post in that they don’t simply report the news but offer opinions and suggestions – not unlike a blogger. The column also looks like a blog post – a narrow column that stretches the length of the page – and even includes graphics. They often put their subjects name in bold which makes it look like a hyperlink.
