Meredith Corporation, based in Des Moines, had a bad quarter…mostly due to falling magazine advertising revenue (the company’s primary business is magazine and book publishing).

Clear Channel Communications has announced nationwide job cuts at its radio stations. In Connecticut, the company owns The River 105.9, Kiss 95.7, ESPN Radio 1410, fm104one, Country 92.5, ESPN Radio 1300, 960 WELI and KC 101.3.

Hartford Courant Editor Cliff Teutsch and Fox61 News Director Bob Rockstroh will now be reporting to Jeff Levine, who comes from the Orlando market where he oversaw the integration of the Tribune’s newspaper, TV and web site operations - orlandosentinel.com.

CT Confidential informs us of the unfortunate news that Peter Urban, Connecticut’s last Washington-based reporter, was laid off by his employer, The Connecticut Post.
