Meredith Corporation, which owns WFSB, produces a syndicated lifestyle show “Better” at KPTV in Portland, Oregon. Meredith is moving production operations for its nationally synidcated “Better” to WFSB in Rocky Hill because of the Connecticut station’s proximity to Meredith’s video production studio in New York.
We’re told that this move will in no way replace the “Better Connecticut” program that airs live at 10 am and is co-hosted by Scot Haney and Kara Sundlun; in fact, the local show may get an updated set as a result. The move is expected to bring with it 10-13 new jobs.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the tax cuts for film crews? Regardless, this is good for our local economy and workforce. It also brings some bragging rights to WFSB. I have to say, Meredith Broadcasting is a classy operation.
