Two Big Departures from The Courant

Hartford Courant Logo
Columnist Stan Simpson, recently named Director of Journalism and Media at the new Journalism & Media Academy at Weaver High School in Hartford, is leaving the paper. However, the memo announcing his depature says, “Stan will continue his Sunday morning show on Fox61 and you can look for him, as early as the new year, on the Opinion pages. His plans to make his farewells in his column tomorrow.”

And Lynn Doan, business reporter who wrote a lot of energy stories, is moving West after three years here. She’s joining SNL Financial, an online service, as a senior energy reporter in Washington, D.C. Lynn was a real asset to the Courant and we’re sorry to see her go.
