The latest Republican to jump into Connecticut’s U.S. Senate race, World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon, gave the confirmed news of her announcement to WNBC-TV out of New York. WNBC alerted its Connecticut affiliate, WVIT, to its plans so New York aired a package about the candidacy at 5 am and then WVIT ran it at 5:30 am.
As for the rest of the Connecticut news media, as WTNH’s Mark Davis reported, “Instead of rallies around the state, Linda McMahon of Greenwich launched her campaign from a TV studio in Stamford, doing a series of satellite interviews with local and national channels.”
