NBC News “Today” show correspondent Natalie Morales appeared on NBC’s new “Marriage Ref” Sunday night, as the Peacock net awkwardly ended 865 hours of Winter Olympic coverage by rolling straight into the comedy show at 10:30 p.m. without so much as a goodbye kiss.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette asked: “Is it really necessary to drag the NBC News brand through the mindless entertainment?” Mindless entertainment? Hello. Have you watched Morales on the third hour of “Today“?
NBC says she will be a regular on the Jerry Seinfeld-produced reality show and that her participation “was vetted and approved by NBC News and it has no effect on her role as an anchor and correspondent for NBC News.”
We see that this has given our friend Gerry Brooks pause as well…
