Hardest Working Woman in Show Biz

We received a press release recently from Secretary of the State candidate (and House Majority Leader) Denise Merrill. The contact person listed was Patty McQueen, someone who has regularly been a part of the Connecticut news media scene (perhaps you caught her on Colin McEnroe’s WNPR show yesterday?). Patty was a reporter for the Journal Inquirer and then covered the capitol for the Stamford Advocate before leaving to do communications work for campaigns and form her own media consulting firm, Communication Strategies. Along with her other clients, Patty is helping out the Merrill campaign.

Headed to New York

Regine LaBossiere, who covered the shoreline for the Hartford Courant, is leaving the paper after nearly six years. Regine started at The Courant in September of 2004. She’s headed to New York to work for a boutique PR firm and we wish her well.

“Double DUI” Case: Two Days in Jail

Elsa Veisor, the Manager of Marketing & Public Relations at the Courant/Fox CT, spent two days in jail this past weekend. The sentencing was the result of her arrest in Farmington last April on two drunk driving charges within a few hours.  The police report identified the person in the car with her as the General Manager of Fox61 and Publisher of the Hartford Courant,  Richard Graziano. He was also the person who picked her up later at the police station. She was given the alcohol education program for one of the DUI charges; the jail time covered the second.
