Hurricane Earl: News Savior

A hurricane is exactly what news stations needed for the dog-days of August.

Hurricane Earl is crawling up the east coast and will most likely miss Connecticut entirely.  However, you would never think that from the amount of coverage Earl is getting.  For instance, the Courant has links to the following on the top of its webpage:

I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of folks with bathtubs full of water and basements full of preserves for the inch or two of rain we are going to receive on Friday.

As Rick Green points out, even the New Media are freaking out about the hurricane.

To all you weather junkies out there,  NBC 30′s Ryan Hanrahan has a great blog (Way Too Much Weather) that is a great source for fair, in-depth weather coverage.
