First Selectman Chooses a Journalist as Top Aide

Oxford’s new First Selectman has hired reporter Joanne Pelton to serve as his administrative aide. Joanne worked as a reporter for 34 years, mostly covering the Naugatuck Valley for the New Haven Register, the Connecticut Post and the Waterbury Republican-American.

Mirror Looking for a New D.C. Reporter

Deirdre Shesgreen, who covered Washington for the CT Mirror, has taken a job with Gannett. We’ll let you know when her replacement is named. Unless we’ve missed something, The Mirror continues to be the only Connecticut news organization with a Washington-based reporter.

Congrats to Lisa Wexler; the Fairfield County radio stations which carried her program “Live! with Lisa” may have been sold earlier this month but she’s already landed on a new one: AM 1230 WFAS in Westchester County, New York.
