Brian Spyros returns to Connecticut as WTNH’s newest reporter. Born and raised in Bristol, he studied broadcast journalism at Central Connecticut State University, then started his career at WFSB. From there, Brian moved to Maryland to be a reporter and bureau chief at WBOC-TV. After living in Maryland for 4 years, Brian and his wife decided to move back to Connecticut to be with family. Welcome home Brian!

  1. Is this the long talked replacement for old man Pierce? Did Al finally make decide to ax him in exchange for this new guy? So much for loyalty Al?

  2. I have a sneaky suspicion he’s taking Jeff Valin’s place who recently left because of an un-renewed contract

  3. Kent deserves better.

  4. I was thinking they would give the weekend spot to Stephanie . I find
the weekday format strange with no desk and Chris Velardi reading the news
in the newsroom . Why no desk ?

  5. Ditto for Kent Pierce. He is the oldest reporter there. Days have to be numbered. Also he seems out of place. Formal and stiff. Almost like a dandy. Does not fit in to the young aggressive culture they seem to be building.

  6. Yes, Kent’s age and experience are really taking down the newscasts. He may be in trouble for having this; youth and inexperience are much more important to the high journalistic standards of channel 8.

  7. He could literally pass as Noell’s father!

  8. apparently predictions ans speculation about Brian taking over Kent Pierce’s job as reporter and Kent getting booted out are false because hes still there reporting along with Brian

  9. By June?

  10. Kent Pierce is one of the most solid reporters in the state. He’s not going anywhere – unless to a bigger market one day!

  11. Kent has no top 10 experience. The die has been cast for old timers like him. He does nothing for ratings. Unless the future is nursing home viewers… he is a dinasour. Keith is different. he is an anchor. He will be allowed to retire on his own terms.

  12. I expect Keith’s retirement any day actually. Maybe he should go before he us asked to leave? Like Kent he brings in older demos and does nothing for the numbers.
