Say, That Looks Familiar…

Imagine how surprised the folks at WNPR were when they saw that the national Republicans had “borrowed” a picture of Dick Blumenthal from them….for an attack ad.

Sign of the Times

In Monday’s New York Times profile on Sen. Chris Dodd, reporter Mark Leibovich remarks that Dodd is no longer covered by any members of the Connecticut press corps:

[Dodd] points out that there have been no Connecticut-based reporters covering the daily doings of the state’s delegation in Washington, compared with a few years ago, when there were several. They have been replaced by a “blizzard” of political bloggers, gossip columnists and cable news partisans. “It gets to a point where no one is really covering what you’re doing,” Mr. Dodd said.

The Atlantic considers this both “remarkable and sad.”

Baby News

Congratulations to NBC Connecticut morning anchor Yvonne Nava who is 5 months pregnant and expecting a baby in October. As for the gender? “We were first told it was a girl. We told our families, had names and nursery patterns picked out. A week later another tech said it was a boy.  Looks like yellow will be the way to go!!”  All the best to her and husband Alex Loeb, who is an online sports anchor for ESPN.com.

An Above-the-Fold Doozy

Somehow…somehow…in announcing that US Senate candidate Rob Simmons will drop out today, the Hartford Courant used Peter Schiff’s picture and labelled it “Simmons”.
