WWE, which has threatened a lawsuit against the Journal Inquirer of Manchester over its use of the word “pornography,” says it “refuses to be bullied” and will not allow its content to be “inaccurately categorized.”.

Despite being married to the chairman of the company (Vince McMahon), U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon told the CT Mirror, “I read about the letter that had gone to Chris Powell in my press clippings, and that’s the first I knew about it.”

WTNH News 8 Hires Erika Martin

WTNH News 8 welcomes Erika Martin, a Greater Hartford native to its Storm Team 8. Martin previously forecasted weather for the Sierra Nevada Region, Western Massachusetts and San Francisco. Prior to her on camera experience, Erika worked as a wardrobe stylist in New York.  Jeff Valin, with whom she will co-host News 8’s Good Morning Connecticut Weekend program, better come dressed and ready!

Does Terzi Have a World Series Voice? Only Time Will Tell

In the wake of the death of famed Red Sox P.A. announcer Carl Beane, the MLB organization is looking for his replacement and CT’s Tony Terzi (son of former WFSB anchor Al Terzi) may be just that. According to Don Orsillo of NESN on today’s WTIC-AM show Morning’s With Ray Dunaway, Terzi was given a shot announcing last Saturday’s game against the Rays. Will he get the formal call back and audition? Only time will tell…

Journal InquirerWorld Wrestling Entertainment has threatened a lawsuit against the Manchester Journal Inquirer. J-I Managing Editor Chris Powell wrote an editorial that used the P word (pornography) in reference to WWE (founded by Republican US Senate candidate Linda McMahon and her husband). That isn’t sitting well with WWE Vice President Brian Flinn:

“This is now at least the second time you have made false statements that damage our corporate reputation, and the second time you have stated that WWE is involved in pornography,” Flinn wrote to Powell. “WWE programming, like Hollywood movies and Broadway shows, is an exciting blend of action, characters, and fictional storylines of good versus evil entertaining millions every week.”

Jamie Muro of WTNH Gets Some “Sense Knocked Into Him”


Jamie Muro of WTNH News 8 took one to the head this weekend after a strenuous P90X2 Workout. According to his Facebook page, while using the pull up bar he fell and hit his head on the basement floor… followed by the bar hitting him in the temple.He temporarily lost his memory. Good thing his wife, former FOX CT news anchor Rebecca Stewart (now of Hartford Hospital) was there to save the day and call 9-1-1!  As he writes,

Resting now – and sore, but I will be fine. Who knew P90X2 could be so brutal??? Again – my thanks – after 39 years, maybe now I have some sense knocked into me!

New Jepsen Hire

Jacie Falkowski, Communications Director for the CT Democratic Party, is moving over to Attorney General George Jepsen’s office. She’ll serve as Executive Assistant for Press and Communications. She joins Sue Kinsman (former Hartford Courant reporter) who is Communications Director.
