 In an editorial published today, a Torrington Register Citizen editorial asks why WTIC, one of the state’s most venerable news outlets, has kept former governor John Rowland on his afternoon drive talk show despite the federal investigation swirling around him.

Connectiut SPJ Approves Inquiry

The Connecticut chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists has voted to hire an outside investigator to look into story fabrication by Hearst reporter Paresh Jha.  Jha recently won a Connecticut SPJ award.

SCOTUS Upholds TV-Newspaper Ownership Restrictions

The U. S. Supreme Court has refused to hear arguments against limits on ownership of broadcast stations and newspapers. This would appear to spell trouble for Tribune (a party to the suit) and its cross-ownership of the Hartford Courant and Fox61.
