Charles “Charlie” Brown

Charlie Brown has died –  as his obituary says, “He was a member of the radio community in Connecticut for almost 40 years, working as a producer and audio engineer at WTIC, WPOP, WHCN and most recently at the Clear Channel Communications group of radio stations in Hartford.”

From WTNH’s Mark Davis, formerly of WTIC-AM:

He was the technical producer of my radio show from 1980 to 1987.   He also produced the sports call in show with Arnold Dean and occasionally worked with Bob Steele and was known to audiences from Steele, Arnold and me referencing him on the air.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday Nov. 23 between 5 and 8 p.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. at Eastford Congregational Church, 8 Church Rd., Eastford.

  1. Charlie and I worked together at WPOP in the 70’s. Charlie loved what he did, a master of his craft, and a wonderful human being. A great loss to all who knew him…and to radio.
