Two local news anchors at WVII in Bangor, Maine shocked their viewers and their bosses when they quit their jobs at the end of the 6pm newscast. One of them, Tony Consiglio, is a native of northeastern Connecticut. Consiglio’s co-anchor, Cindy Michaels, was also the station’s news director:
Michaels, WVII’s news director, cited “constant disrespecting and belittling of staff” and editorial intervention by higher-ups. “It’s a little complicated, but we were expected to do somewhat unbalanced news, politically, in general,” she added.
