There’s a new member of the capitol press corps: Johanna Somers. She replaces JC Reindl at the New London Day – JC has moved on to the Detroit Free Press where he’s Business Desk Reporter. Johanna will cover state government and politics in Hartford after interning at The Seattle Times,Thomson Reuters in Brussels, Belgium and the Naples Daily News in Naples, Fla. In all her spare time (!) she’s also working on her master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.
The news that Tribune Company, post-bankruptcy, has hired JPMorgan Chase and Evercore Partners to sell its flagship newspapers has the national media speculating about the future of the Chicago Tribune and the LA Times. We here in Connecticut are probably more curious about the fate of the Hartford Courant and FoxCT.
