Donna Larcen, the arts editor for The Hartford Courant, is leaving the paper July 12.
“It is not my choice to leave. But I am grateful for every minute here. I couldn’t ask for a better job.”
“When I walked into the newsroom in August of 1974, I knew I was among ‘my people.’ I still feel that way. I have made wonderful friends, had amazing adventures and still look forward to doing the work. It’s been an amazing journey and I will be cheerleading for all my hard-working, talented colleagues.”
Among her jobs at the paper: Home editor, fashion reporter, consumer writer, general assignment features and, for the last decade, arts editor. She has supervised about 50 academic-credit writing interns from local colleges and spent a semester teaching journalism at the University of Connecticut.
