The Hartford Public Library will host what promises to be an interesting panel discussion next week on freedom of speech, freedom of worship and freedom from want and fear.
Described as the Four Freedoms, they were specifically cited by President Franklin Roosevelt in his 1941 State of the Union address. The Hartford Library decided now would be a good time to discuss the issues in the aftermath of the recent terrorist bombing in Paris at the head office of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
The panel will be moderated by prolific writer, thinker and educator Susan Campbell, who has a passionate interest in all four of FDR’s four freedoms and has put each at the center of her writing throughout her career.
Date: Wednesday, March 4th. 6p.m. Downtown Library.
