The 2014 Bob Veillete 5K Road Race and Walk is coming up September 6th in Waterbury.
The race begins at 8:30a.m. at Library Park at Grand and Meadow streets and has been scheduled this year to coincide with the Brass City Brew Fest.
All the money raised by the event goes to help pay medical expenses for Bob Veillette, the former managing editorof the Waterbury Republican-American, who suffered a stroke in 2006 that left him paralyzed from the nose down. Now 68, Bob is a former runner and jazz pianist. He and his wife Bonnie have attended the race in previous years.
