Husband Turns Advocate

Part of getting older is understanding that an ache, pain or dizzy feeling you may have worked through a few years ago could be a sign of a more serious condition. This can be especially true in professions like journalism where there is always pressure to perform and a “the show must go on mentality.”

Todd Crawford, the husband of the late WABC television reporter Lisa Colagrassi, learned this hard lesson in March when his wife collapsed at work and died as the result of a ruptured brain aneurysm. She was 49. In the month prior to her death, Colagrassi often came home from work complaining of a headache, but did not see a doctor.

Now, Crawford, who lives in Stamford is doing all he can to raise awareness about the condition and to lobby the federal government to devote more money toward research.
