News 8 in New Haven has announced the hiring of Laura Hutchinson as the station’s new morning co-anchor.
Hutchinson is a native of Hamden. She comes to News 8 from WWLP in Springfield. She’ll be co-anchoring with News 8 ironman Keith Kountz.

“We are thrilled to welcome Laura Hutchinson to the Good Morning Connecticut team,” said Mark Higgins, General Manager and VP of WTNH News 8. “Her experience as a morning news anchor and her local Connecticut roots will bring a dynamic and valuable perspective.”Originally from Hamden, Laura has spent the last 6 years at WWLP in Springfield, MA where she’s been anchoring the morning news and working on the 22News I-Team. She has received a host of honors for her work including the Murrow and AP awards.
