Clinton, Connecticut native Erica Hill is leaving NBC News and her recently acquired role as a day time anchor at MSNBC to join HLN(once known as CNN Headline News).
HLN is where Hill got her start as a national news personality.
She’ll be anchoring her own daytime program and contributing to CNN. Reports suggest the decision to bring Hill on board is part of an overall strategy to return HLN to its news roots with a style based on the successful morning news block hosted by Robin Meade. In the past, the Meade show has outperformed CNN’s morning ratings.
Hill will anchor her three hour block from New York. The morning Meade block is anchored from Atlanta and another major piece of HLN real estate will be soon be anchored from Los Angeles by Michaela Pereira.
