Once again former Hartford Courant reporter Stephen Ohlemacher is part of the Associated Press team breaking the news on the historic selection of Hillary Clinton as the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee.
According to a count by Ohlemacher and other members of the AP team assigned to the task, Clinton reached the delegate threshold necessary to be the presumptive nominee sometime Monday based on the outcome of the Puerto Rico primary and the formal movement of a few super-delegates to her side.
The story broke on the AP wire Monday evening.
Ohlemacher broke the news when Trump reached the threshold a few weeks ago while Trump was campaigning in North Dakota.
