The Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information gave awards to five people Wednesday for their efforts to keep government and government records open and accessible to the public.

The winners included; State Librarian Kendall Wiggin, Meriden Record-Journal reporter Mike Savino, CCSU history professor Matt Warshauer, WNPR’s John Dankosky and former WFSB news director Dick Ahles.

Dan Klau was named president of the CCFOI and out-going president Jim Smith was honored for his five years of service in that role.
