What's a Scoop?

The Wall St. Journal, one of the most widely read newspapers in the world, appeared to toss away a competitive advantage it had earlier this week on the shake up in the Donald Trump campaign.

The WSJ clearly had the story before everyone else, tweeting an early image of its front page on Wednesday morning just after midnight, but the story itself did not appear online until 5a.m.

In the intervening time other news organizations, including the New York Times, were able to match the WSJ and post. So who had the scoop? Or if a scoop falls in the woods at 1a.m. and no one sees it, is it a scoop?
