A new report on the independence of college campus newspapers cites the dust up last spring over the Wesleyan Argus.

The report, put out by the American Association of University Professors and three other organizations, concludes campus newspapers are under attack from a variety of sources including administrative efforts to discourage student journalism in favor of public relations.

The debate over the Argus began after the paper published what turned out to be a controversial op-ed concerning the Black Lives Matter movement.
