Variety has what it calls an un-precedented joint interview with the evening anchors of ABC, CBS and NBC.
All three defend the relevance of the network evening news. They say though the audience knows the news of the day by the time they tune in each night – the network newscasts can provide added-value context.
Also in the interview, CBS’s Scott Pelley, who has a home in Darien, Connecticut, says he intends to stay at the anchor desk despite recent reporting suggesting he’s prepared to step down.
