The FCC could relax television station ownership rules in the near future and some observers say that could set off a merger and buying spree in the TV business. The FCC plans to vote on the issue next month, potentially changing a rule adopted in 2016 limiting the number of stations some companies can buy.

Markets like Hartford-New Haven could be affected.
