The Scoop Hour

    Have you noticed?

In the last month or so the Washington Post and the New York Times have been trading scoops on the Trump administration on an almost daily basis. These late afternoon scoops tend to hit the internet between 5p.m. and 7p.m. It is happening so frequently that Washington journalists are calling that time of day “the scoop hour.”

At the center of the competition are the editors of the two papers, Marty Baron of the Post and Dean Baquet of the Times. The two happen to be friends and their careers have paralleled each other.

Politico has a twin profile worth reading.
