Today, Tuesday, October 31, 2017, Halloween, could be the end of the line for the 18 year run of CT-N, Connecticut’s version of C-Span.
Severe budget cuts included in the state budget last week mean CT-N’s operator can no longer afford to produce the service under the terms of the existing temporary contract.
Negotiations to find a solution to avoid a shutdown of the network were continuing Monday, but those in the know were not optimistic.
If the network goes dark, it will present a political issue for legislative leadership. One they would probably like to avoid.
