Chris Powell, the long-time managing editor of the Manchester based Journal Inquirer newspaper says civic engagement is collapsing along with the local news industry.
His comments were made during an exit interview with CTMirror.org. Powell recently announced his retirement from the paper. He intends to continue writing on Connecticut public affairs.
