There’s a new development in the effort by Sinclair Broadcast Group to purchase Tribune Media, the owner of Fox 61 and WCCT in Connecticut.
The FCC is looking into meetings between FCC board chair Ajit Pai and officials of Sinclair. Questions are being raised about improper coordination between the two.
It is believed the FCC is moving rapidly toward approval of the deal. Pai is a Republican presidential appointee. Sinclair is viewed as a conservative broadcaster that backs the president and has not been reluctant to use its airwaves to push a conservative political agenda.
