As you know there is a big merger pending between Sinclair Broadcast Group and Tribune Media that may bring with it a conservative lean to local news coverage if Sinclair prevails and takes ownership of Fox 61.
With that story as background, Politico has a story on its website showing how conservative leaning news sites are popping up in state’s around the country. These sites look and sound like real newspaper websites, but in fact are a front promoting a specific political agenda. Be on the look out – it seems only a matter of time before one pops up in Connecticut and it also seems only a matter of time before left leaning groups begin to mimic the strategy.
