Long-time Connecticut news photographer Peter Casolino, Jr. died on Friday after a brief illness. He was 51.
Casolino was a photographer at the New Haven Register from 1991-2014 and most recently worked as a freelance photographer for the Hartford Courant. In addition to his work as a photographer he was the co-author of several children’s books. One of his pictures from Ground Zero is in the permanent collection of the 9/11 Museum in New York City.
