Tribune Media, owner of Fox 61 and WCCT in Connecticut, says it is disappointed that concerns raised by the FCC has temporarily derailed its plans to merge with Sinclair Broadcast Group.
The Sinclair merger, long thought to be a done deal under the Trump administration’s FCC, was put on hold at the beginning of the week when questions were raised by the FCC chair over plans to spin off certain stations to stay within cross-ownership limits.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Tribune said it still hopes the deal will proceed.
