December 20, 2019, was Bill Pearse’s last day at WTIC-AM. He’s retiring after a career in radio news and sports that dates back to the 1970s and WPOP (when “POP” actually covered news). Bill has had two stints at 1080, including working with the legendary Bob Steele and serving as news director. He has won multiple awards, covered the Capitol, produced UConn basketball games, and mentored countless broadcast journalists. As his colleagues at WTIC will tell you, things just won’t be the same without him.
