Here are the major news updates from today:
- As of today, the number of deaths in Connecticut due to COVID-19 reached 10.
- Governor Lamont ordered schools to remain closed through April 20. This was changed from March 31.
- Businesses and nonprofits considered essential during this time have been enumerated by the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) here.
- At a press conference this afternoon, Gov. Lamont again urged people to practice social distancing even while outside at state parks and beaches.
- The Partnership for CT will distribute more than 60,000 laptops for high school students in the state’s 33 lowest-performing districts, according to the CT Mirror.
- Last Friday, Gov. Lamont asked the private sector to help supply the state with personal protective equipment (PPE). The state’s request for PPE can be found here.
- Access Health CT added a special enrollment period for those uninsured that began March 19 and continues until April 2. Coverage begins April 1.
