“I am pleased to share Mike Anthony, from The Hartford Courant, will be taking on one of the two remaining sports reporter roles recently announced. He will join HCMG’s adept sports team next month, with a focus on telling stories across the state, including UConn athletics.
Mike will be part of the HCMG team after 21 years at The Courant. He covered the state’s most prominent athletic programs, compelling people and important topics throughout his career, which included a six-year run on the UConn men’s basketball beat from 2005-11. After a five-year period focused on feature writing, Mike spent two years on the UConn football beat. He covered the ’17-18 UConn women’s basketball season before taking on a columnist role in May 2018.”
