That may sum up Chris Powell’s blunt question about how Alden Global Capital ended up owning the Hartford Courant, and the entire Tribune Publishing company.
Powell asks, “Why did no one out bid Alden” for the Courant? Because no one sees a future in local news as a profitable business.
What’s worse, is what that means for a system of government based on an informed citizenry.
