There’s been a trend in local TV in recent years toward adding extra hours of local news programming to replace syndicated or network programming; particularly(or especially) in the mornings and evenings before prime time.
Now NBC News is taking the trend and running with it. The network plans to add a daily 12p.m. national newscast to replace Days of Our Lives.
NBC News Daily premieres September 12.
