In a development sure to launch 1,000 journalism ethics discussions, CBS News says it knew of the planned Brittney Griner prisoner exchange deal last week, but held back on reporting the story at the request of the White House. Apparently U.S. officials were worried any reporting in advance of the swap might jeopardize the deal.
Connecticut native Margaret Brennan told the story about the sacrificed scoop on air Thursday.
