When most people think of what it means to be a great leader they think of a person with vision who convinces the crowd to follow, but sometimes leadership is simply having the vision to see what the crowd wants and be willing to get to the head of the parade.
Whichever model then Vice-President Joe Biden was following, there is no doubt that ten years ago, during an interview on Meet the Press, Biden got in front of President Obama and most other main stream politicians to endorse same-sex marriage.
Today he will sign into law a same-sex marriage bill written to codify the right to marry whomever you choose.
Biden says his remarks on Meet the Press that day were not planned, but those remarks are a perfect example of how newsmakers can use the “Sunday shows” to drive the debate and even change history.
