In a 1989 interview with actress Audrey Hepburn, Barbara Walters told her subject how much she longed to have Hepburn’s look. Hepburn thought the admiration was misplaced, but Walters, who often said in interviews that she did not consider herself beautiful by television standards, insisted that she needed someone to emulate and she chose Hepburn as her fashion muse.
Some of the photographs published since Walter’s death this past weekend reflect the Hepburn influence.
