It appears a lawsuit by a long-time employee of the Journal Inquirer of Manchester, against the paper’s owner, has been settled. According to the JI, there is an agreement in principle. Court proceedings have been put on hold for at least a month while the details are worked out.
Walter Rudewicz, the CFO of the company had accused the JI’s owner Neil Ellis of failing to live up to the terms of a hand-shake deal they had on compensation. Rudewicz was seeking nearly $1 million in back payments. Ellis is quoted by the JI as saying he is “very pleased” with the outline of the agreement.
