As expected, CNN has announced that Gayle King(WFSB) and Charles Barkley will team up for a new once a week show during which they will discuss all manner of cultural issues without being too political. We’re paraphrasing how King and Barkley described the new show over the weekend.
The program, titled King Charles, will air on Wednesday nights. The premise being:
“I want people to tune in to see ‘what are Gayle and Charles going to do?”’ said King. “I think it will be fun to watch the dynamic between the two of us.”
The premise appears to presume a large portion of the viewing audience is asking this question in the middle of the week.
As a beloved veteran of WFSB, we want to root for King, but we wonder if this show is the answer to a question no one is asking.
