The departure of Connecticut native Chris Licht as CEO of CNN throws into question the durability of almost every programming decision he is associated with over the last year.
Among the plans now in question; the announced weekly Wednesday night show featuring Gayle King(WFSB) and Charles Barkley(NBA). King and Licht worked together at CBS and it is believed that personal connection had a lot to do with the development of the show. Will the new CEO be as cool with the concept? It has been reported the King/Barkley show and their reported salaries added to low morale at the network under Licht.
Other decisions that might be on thin ice as the result of the loss of Licht include, but may not be limited to; the future of CNN mornings, middays, and the recent move of Kaitlan Collins to the 9p.m. hour.
