Actor Treat Williams, who was born in Stamford and grew up in Rowayton is dead following a motorcycle crash near his home in Vermont. He was 71.
Police say Williams was struck by a car and critically injured. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Albany where he was pronounced dead.
In addition to his work in movies and television he was known more recently for posting often on social media about his life in Vermont. Shortly before the accident he posted a picture of himself mowing the lawn.
