A few weeks ago we noted the frequency with which former WTNH reporter Fredricka Whitfield finds herself anchoring important breaking news as a weekend host for CNN. Last month the network’s interim leadership team endorsed that work by leaving her in place at the anchor desk in the middle of an on-air staff re-shuffle.
Now Whitfield’s dependability is being honored by the Women’s Media Center, founded by Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan and Gloria Steinem. The WMC will give Whitfield a lifetime achievement award at its annual dinner next month in New York.
