The CNN sign was removed this week from the top of the former CNN Center in Atlanta altering the skyline of the city.
CNN still has a presence in Atlanta, but the building where CNN developed into the international powerhouse it is today has been sold.
Pausing here for a rare personal note…
This Laureler once booked a flight from Hartford to Atlanta for a one day trip to hand deliver a tape and resume to the CNN personnel department in the hope that showing that level of ambition would convince someone to give me a job at the rising network. Back then, that’s what people did; hand delivered T&R packages and filled out a job application with pen and ink! And there was a thirty-percent chance it might work.
