Roughly two years after taking over as president and general manager of Fox 61 and CW20, Humberto Hormaza has announced he is stepping down. His departure date is May 10.

In an internal email, obtained by The Laurel, Hormaza expresses gratitude to everyone on the staff, lists a number of team accomplishments, and also thanks TEGNA leadership for its support. The note does not say what Hormaza plans next, but does refer to a “next chapter” in his journey.

Local media observers are left to wonder if all the changes are coincidence or signs of trouble in River City.
